Part 1: Creating a Cozy Bedroom

Everyone can agree that 2020 and 2021 were very difficult years; the pandemic forced us all to spend more time in our homes than ever before. This renewed focus on our living space resulted in a new appreciation of the way our surroundings affect us. With the increase in remote work and schooling and more family members staying at home, the desire for a comfortable personal sanctuary within the home is at an all time high! Some prefer to retreat to the backyard for fresh air, others to the home office for online gaming, and of course many to a bedroom to relax, read a book, or binge watch Netflix. Whatever your preference, we all are in need of a space that offers a personal sanctuary in which to relax and refresh. Read on for some of the latest trends that align with creating a comfortable retreat right in your bedroom and links to some of my favorite pieces.

Bedroom ideas

Making a few simple changes can transform your bedroom into a personal retreat to be enjoyed any time of the day! Here are some ideas:

  • Canopy Beds – A focal piece for the room, modern canopy beds are open and streamlined. Click here to see one of my faves!

  • Textured Headboards – Headboards are a simple way to update a look without taking up space; add some pattern or texture to the room. Click here to see one of my faves!

  • Cozy Chair – Consider adding a comfy chair where you can sink in with a good book or favorite movie. Click here and here for my recommendations!

  • Mood Lighting –Under-bed lighting and smart bulbs that dim can help set the mood and transition the bedroom as a space to use during the day or at night. Click here for the lamp I have in my room!

  • Luxury Feel Bedding - Bedding is soooo important for feeling cozy and to get a good night sleep. I am very picky but here is my favorite bedding of all time. GIRLS - you know there's nothing better than shaving and hopping into bed with clean soft sheets!
